Superintendent Robin Ritchie

Cabool Schools Superintendent Robin Ritchie announced this week that she plans to resign and accept a position with a school in Clinton.

In a March 5 letter to Cabool Board of Education, Ritchie tendered her resignation effective June 30 and asked to be released from her contract, which had been extended in January to run through the 2020-21 school year. The school board will take action on the resignation at Monday evening’s board meeting.

“This decision is bittersweet, as I have truly enjoyed my work here in this district,” Ritchie said. “From the first day I entered the district I felt immediately welcomed and at home. Cabool will always hold a very special place in my heart.”

Ritchie announced her plans to school staff through an email message on Monday, stating in part, “I wanted to let you know that God has sent a very special and unexpected opportunity my way during the last couple of weeks. I have been offered an administrative position at the Clinton Christian Academy in Clinton, MO. This is the school where my grandsons attend. I have tentatively accepted this administrative position pending release from my contract.”

Acceptance of Ritchie’s resignation and a review of the process to fill the superintendent’s position for 2018-19 was the focus of a special school board meeting called for 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, at the middle school.
